The Cloutier-Riendeau Matching Gift Program
Philanthropie Estrie recently launched the Cloutier-Riendeau Matching Gift program. The announcement was made during the 20th anniversary celebration evening. The program seeks to encourage charitable organizations in the Eastern Townships as well as their donors to create an endowment fund (“fonds de dotation”), or contribute to one. Thanks to this generous offer from the family, when you create an endowment fund with Philanthropie Estrie (“fonds de dotation”), we will match each of your invested dollars up to $50,000 per fund. Your donation will therefore be doubled, creating a significant impact on your particular community, regardless of its mission. The donor selects an organization that he or she holds dearly and gives to its particular endowment fund, a gift that is permanent. This program was set-up in memory of the substantial gift made by the Cloutier-Riendeau family to Philanthropie Estrie in 2023.

Program Rules
- Donation Match
- When you create an endowment fund with Philanthropie Estrie (“fonds de dotation”), we will match each of your invested dollars up to $50,000 per fund. The program also applies when you contribute to an existing endowment fund (“fonds de dotation”).
- The donor selects an organization that he or she holds dearly and gives to its particular endowment fund, a gift that is permanent.
- Minimum Amounts to Participate in the Program
- $10,000 for the creation of a new endowment fund (“fonds de dotation”).
- $1,000 for a contribution to an existing endowment fund. The so-called type of fund “fonds sous gestion” are not eligible.
- Eligible Organizations
- Charities officially recognized by the CRA, with a regulatory status at the Enterprise Register of Quebec.
- Charities located in the Eastern Townships or working in this territory. .

Special conditions
Ce programme ne peut donner lieu à l’édiction de conditions particulières de la part de l’entité donatrice, comme la mise en place d’un appel de projets par exemple. L’appariement ne peut être utilisé pour créer un fonds philanthropique à durée déterminée ou un fonds sous gestion.
