The Nourri-Source Estrie organization won the coveted door prize offered by Philanthropie Estrie during its 20th anniversary gala evening held on April 30.
The donation of $10,000 is for the creation of an endowment fund, and to this will be added a gift of $5000.
An endowment fund of $10,000
An endowment fund is a permanent investment made to a charitable entity, from which the annual revenues are used to help sustain the causes chosen by the donor.
In the case of the gift offered by Philanthropie Estrie, the Nourri-Source Estrie organization will benefit from the annual interest generated by the $10,000 endowment fund, in perpetuity. This innovative form of door prize was conceived as a unique way to give back to the community. This initiative reflects the continuous commitment by Philanthropie Estrie toward the reinforcement of our social fabric.
A gift of $5000
Regarding the gift of $5000 which was also part of the door prize, Nourri-Source Estrie is free to invest this money in the activity of their choice. ‘’Philanthropie Estrie wins when it becomes better known’’ according to Anne-Marie Aumond, director general of Nourri-Source Estrie. ‘’We are pleased to have won this door prize which will help us finance some of our activities’’, she concluded.
The mission of Nourri-Source Estrie is to support families in their breast-feeding activities to make this a positive experience. They also promote breast feeding.
